BESIVANCE® (besifloxacin ophthalmic suspension) 0.6% is an antibiotic eye drop prescribed by your doctor to treat bacterial conjunctivitis, sometimes called pink eye, in people 1 year of age and older. BESIVANCE® contains the active antibacterial molecule, besifloxacin, which works by killing the infectious bacteria that entered the eye and caused the pink eye infection.
BESIVANCE® is formulated with DuraSite® technology to help the active molecule, besifloxacin, stay on the surface of the eye to fight certain bacterial pathogens for up to 12 hours.
BESIVANCE® is a thick, gray-white fluid that is easy to see when it lands on the eye, providing long-lasting coverage with every drop. BESIVANCE® works to fight bacteria for up to 12 hours.
Antibiotic eye drops like BESIVANCE® usually help symptoms get better after a few days. Be sure to follow your doctor's instructions for how to use BESIVANCE®.
Use BESIVANCE® as directed by your doctor. You use BESIVANCE® by instilling one drop in the affected eye(s) 3 times a day, 4 to 12 hours apart, for 7 days.
You can dose BESIVANCE® anywhere from 4 to 12 hours apart—like this example schedule shows. This flexibility may be particularly convenient for children 1 year of age and older and their families.
